Friends of Advantage is starting a "Formal Frenzy" here at the Monroe Cotton Mills beginning today at 2pm until 6pm and again tomorrow from 10am-6pm. Most all long formal dresses will go for $49.95. and the short ones for $25. We have a large selection of beautiful dresses with a wide variety of sizes available and many of them NEW. Thanks to the many dress donors, we have now partnered with The Monroe Downtown Development Authority who will be hosting our second 2013 adDRESS a NEED SALE in Monroe. This sale will be located at The Monroe Cotton Mill, 601 South Madison Street Monroe, GA 30655. The sale will begin on Friday, March 22nd and run through Saturday, April 6th. The hours will be 10am-6pm daily. with the exception of Sundays or on Saturday, March 30th in which we will be closed.

The 4th Annual Friends of Advantage adDRESS a Need SALE will be held at The Classic Center-Cypress Room at 700 Thomas Street on Friday, March 1st from 10am-8pm and Saturday, March 2nd from 10am-6pm. NEW and gently used formal dresses for children and adults for prom, pageants, wedding, an evening on the town, theatre, easter, and yes even vintage wear or costume wear will be available for prices ranging from $20-$150!!! Shoes, jewelry, and purses are also available. Vendors present as well. A donation of $5 at the door is suggested.

If you missed Tuesday night's 2nd Annual Friends of Advantage Designer's Challenge & Top Model event, you missed a good time!!! Congratulations to Sarah Hill for being named the 2013 adDRESS a Need Top Model with 1278 votes:-) Tammy Gilland of the UGA Foundation was our 1st runner up, Stephanie Savage of Madison County High School was 2nd runner up, and Mackenzie Creech was named Junior Top Model. People's Choice in Design went to Christine Butler of Christine Butler Designs.

A "People's Choice" in design will be awarded, in addition to the live judges result in the Designer's Challenge 2013. During intermission of this event on Feb. 5th, we will allow people to vote for their favorite designer and design by voting with $1 votes. If you are unable to attend the event, your votes can still be counted. If you wish to support your favorite designer simply go to www.friendsofadvantage.org. On the home page there is a "donate" button to the right. Click on that, make your donation or votes, and on the COMMENTS line note "People's Choice for . . .

Designers and models scoured racks of outdated dresses at the Rialto Room at Hotel Indigo last week looking for the ugliest dresses they could find.

Friends of Advantage (FOA) 2nd Annual Designer's Challenge & Top Model event will be held at Hotel Indigo-Rialto Room on Tuesday evening, February 5, 2013 at 7pm. Tickets will go on sale January 10th at the cost of $20 per person. This event is limited to seating for 150, so get your tickets early! The Designer's Challenge is a fashion show inspired by Project Runway. FOA takes the opportunity to "go green" with using outdated dresses donated for the annual adDRESS a Need SALE and asking designers to take on the Designer's Challenge by remaking the dresses into today's fashion.

Click on the "Top Model 2013" tab at the top of this page to see a list of the twenty six adDRESS a Need models/fundraisers we have so far for 2013. Click on their names to see their biographies and to vote.

- Voting is open until 11:59pm on February 4th.
- You vote through the Paypal link attached to each model (not the Donate link on the right side of the screen).
- One dollar ($1) equals one vote.
-Feel free to stuff the ballot box for your favorite by increasing the quantity at checkout (Ex: $10=10 votes).
-If you have more than one favorite, feel free to vote for every model you like!
