Dawn Rowan is an Advantage Team Leader for Clarke PSR (Psychosocial Rehabilitation) here in Athens. She has been with the Agency for over two years. Dawn started out as a Case Manager at Jackson Mental Health and has also served as a Team Leader for Walton PSR. Dawn serves on the Customer Service Committee, assists in presenting WRAP training in our agency and served on the Picnic Committee this year. Dawn performs community advocacy within her program and is passionate about expanding the Clarke PSR program. This year she obtained a grant to add a computer lab to her program because she saw a need for her clients to learn how to use computers to find resources to expand their coping skills and mental health knowledge. She recently won a grant to expand the whole health and wellness program at Clarke PSR. Dawn has introduced fun and exciting activities for her clients in the day program by utilizing exercise balls and yoga mats into the groups. Dawn obtained a grant for a client ran jewelry business and has successfully trained the clients in jewelry design and in business practices. She has placed the jewelry with two Advantage clinics and one in the community at Jittery Joes’s Roasting House. Dawn has used her fundraising skills to promote agency events by obtaining goods and services from the community. Dawn’s artistic flare can be seen in the jewelry design and in her group spaces at Clarke PSR. She resides in Jackson County with her husband of 20 years and her children. In her spare time, Dawn enjoys photography, gardening and pottery.
