Friends of Advantage would like to thank each participant of the 2016 Designer's Challenge & Top Model Competition, as well as the donors and sponsors. The 25 participants collectively brought in over $7,500 in $1 votes.

Overview of the Designer's Challenge & Top Model Competition:
Online voting begins on December 1, 2015 and ends on February 2. 2016. If you wish to make a donation in one of our 2016 participants honor, please click on the Top Model or Designer buttons below to seek the individual of choice. Click on the name of your selection and proceed to check out to make your donation. A vote will be added for each dollar you donate, ie $5=5 votes, $50 = 50 votes, $500 = 500 votes, etc. Receipts will be sent for all donations for tax purposes.
Friends of Advantage, the Foundation of Advantage Behavioral Health Systems, will be hosting the 5th Annual Designer’s Challenge & Top Model Competition on Thursday, February 4, 2015 at 7pm at The Morton Theatre. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased through The Morton Theatre Box Office, www.mortontheatre.com.
The Designer’s Challenge is a one of a kind fashion challenge in our region that was inspired by Project Runway. As NEW and gently used formal and semi-formal dresses are being donated throughout the year for the upcoming adDRESS a Need SALE in March, some outdated and downright ugly dresses are received. These dresses are set aside for recycle through the Designer’s Challenge!
We invite local seamstresses, alterationists, designers, etc. to be paired with our selected models to volunteer their time and talents in participating in the challenge by redesigning and recreating outdated dresses into marketable, appealing fashion for their selected model. Each team will select up to three dresses of their choice from our collection during to recreate into a marketable, updated fashion. The designer is given over two months to work on the project with the model’s input, prior to revealing their unique creation live on stage before judges at the event on February 4, 2016.
During the Designer's Challenge & Top Model event, a “Parade of Dresses” will be modeled by the local Homecoming Queens and/or representatives within the ten counties in which we serve, offering a sneak peak of some of the beautiful new and gently used dresses that will be offered during the March adDRESS a Need SALE. The dress sale will be at a new location this year at Epps Bridge Centre located at 1791 1791 Oconee Connector Athens, GA 30606. The dates are set to open Friday, March 4, 2016 and will run through Sunday, March 20, 2016. The sale is open to the public offering formal dresses, shoes, purses, and jewelry just in time for the prom and wedding season, with prices from $20-$150.
Friends of Advantage adDRESS a Need project also offers adDRESS a Need Prom Scholarship opportunities, offering Cinderella Makeovers to eligible young ladies throughout Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Greene, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Jackson, Madison, Morgan, and Walton counties who are unable to attend prom due to financial hardships. Prom scholarship forms will be sent to the local high schools for those in need.
We invite you to come out for an evening of fabulous entertainment at the Designer’s Challenge & Top Model Competition and see for yourself just how talented our locals are and catch a glimpse of some of the amazing dresses we will offer at the sale!
