Support for transportation expenses is an ongoing challenge for Advantage Behavioral Health Systems’ various programs. Transportation is an essential ingredient for serving people who are creating better lives through real personal accomplishment.
We have made major strides in supporting transit at Advantage over the last two years. Friends was awarded a grant from the Athens Area Community Foundation in its first grant cycle to purchase bus passes for clients in Clarke County.
Several generous donors, including the St. Mary's Hospital Foundation, Jackson EMC Trust, and Frances Hollis Brain Foundation made it possible for Jackson Creative to convert a hospital ambulance into a lift van for its program participants who are wheelchair-bound.
However, we continue to pursue funding to meet these needs in new ways. Our goal for this year is to build support for a Child & Adolescent Travel Fund.
If you would like to discuss contributing to such a fund, please contact Tammy Dalton at tdalton@advantagebhs.org or 706.389.6739 x1306.
